Roullete – How to Beat the Casino in Roullete

Roullete is a game of chance wherein a ball rolls around a spinning wheel and players place bets on what number it will land on. The game is available in most casinos with table games and has a wide range of betting options for players to choose from. The game is easy enough for a beginner to learn and enjoy, and yet has the variety that experienced players will appreciate.

The roulette wheel consists of a solid wooden disk slightly convex in shape, with a metal partition around its edge. The compartments (called frets or pockets) on the roulette wheel are painted alternately red and black and numbered from 1 to 36. There is also a green compartment on European wheels, and two more on American ones, each bearing the sign of 0.

A player makes bets by placing chips on a Roulette table. When the game is in between decisions the dealer places a “buck” or “puck” on the Roulette table to indicate which of the numbers was hit. She then informs the players of the amount of their winning bet, and they withdraw their chips and begin betting again.

When the ball lands in one of the pockets on the Roulette wheel, players that bet on the number, section or color of the corresponding pocket will win. Depending on the type of bet, they may be awarded with the same number of chips as the amount of money wagered on them or less than that. The most popular outside bets are the Dozens and Columns bets that pay 2-1.

Despite its popularity with many players, the odds of winning at roulette are quite low. In fact, the house edge on this game can be as high as 7.89 percent. This is far more than the average house edge on craps which can be as low as 2.63 percent. It is possible to beat the casino in roulette, but it takes a great deal of preparation and practice.
